How old are you? It really doesn’t matter, because orthodontics are for everyone!
If you’re at least seven, you should have an initial orthodontic evaluation. It’s not unusual to start orthodontic evaluations and monitoring this young. It’s a good opportunity to identify any issues that might require early treatment, solving problems now and saving money down the road.
If you’re a teen (12-16), it’s the ideal time to get braces or Invisalign clear aligners because your permanent teeth are fully in. And what teenager doesn’t want to project a healthy, confident smile?

The Great River Orthodontics team loves helping out, whether it’s working with the Kids in Need Foundation, Girl Scouts River Valleys, or Boys and Girls Club of Twin Cities. We also enjoy getting involved with our local schools. This includes elementary schools like Castle, Eagle Point, or Richardson. And middle schools like Sunrise Park, Maplewood, and Skyview.
